Why We Believe In Nutanix

It’s been a while since we first started working with Nutanix and I have had time to reflect on our relationship. It occurred to me that we owe a thank you to Nutanix. I know it sounds crazy to thank a vendor. And No, as much as I love Nutanix they don’t throw leads our way. As Nutanix resellers we owe them a great deal of thanks. So here it goes…

Dear Nutanix,
Thank you for making a solid product. Thank you for providing us and our customers with rock solid support. Thank you for all the marketing you do to promote your product. This makes our lives as resellers easier. Thank you for continuous product updates that provide new features and performance enhancements for existing and new customers. Thank you for recognizing the hard work and effort of your partners. Thank you for the amazing technical resources on your support portal. Thank you for the free training opportunities you offer all partners and customers. Thank you for going the extra mile in every possible way. Most importantly to me, thank you for being sincere and never misleading us or making promises that couldn’t be kept. Thank you for establishing integrity, not only in your product, but in your sales team. These are attributes that every company should instill.  This is why I am very excited for 2014 and honored to be a Nutanix partner.

Sincerely,

Devin Henderson

Early Access to Flex-IO Proves IOPS are Plentiful!

Our company was blessed to be one of the few partners that were selected for early access into the alpha builds of Liquidware Labs new FLEX-IO product.  Here is an excerpt of the email we sent to Jason Mattox CTO of Liquidware Labs hours after we received access to the beta.

Here’s my initial thoughts on FlexIO.

It’s so easy a cave man can do it.  The very fact that all the settings are in the vapp settings makes this thing absolutely awesome.  I have changed ip addresses on the vapp 4 or 5 times and it just boots right back up and works on the first shot.
Performance was greater than 100x the performance of the disk I had in my servers.  I went from 185.7 IOPS to 19057.22 IOPS.  (screenshots below)
Before Flex-IO
Using Flex-IO
I have a desktop pool running on three hosts each running a flex-io appliance.  It’s very snappy.  Now…  I wonder how stable it is?
I’m running my flexIO appliance with the exact same specs as you.  My servers have 144GB of ram with a 500GB SATA disk.
As for the comment of how stable is it…  Well, that same datastore has been running since August of this year with no reboots and it still performs as expected.  This is really a solid product!
